CHAPTER 1: HISTORY AND DEFINITION OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

REFLECTION:

Educational technology is the practice of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning process (Lucido and Borabo). It was made to solve problems involving human learning. Men use their inventions and discoveries to satisfy their educational needs.

The use of Educational Technology had dated far back in the ancient times when man started to use pointed sticks and knives to inscribe signs and symbols up to the contemporary times when computers and other technologies become the major medium for the teaching and learning process. The development of our technology brings about the change of how we conduct our lessons and the efficiency of doing it. As we can see so far, we have achieved a positive result, thus the methods we were using are effective. Because of integrating technology in our education, students have become more knowledgeable. Children have developed valuable research skills at a young age; it has also become the voice of the introvert students- they were able to share their ideas through social medias and other websites.

However, although technology had done a great part in the learning process, teachers should always remember that technology is just a part of it. Teachers have to do their roles in order to achieve the efficiency and of learning.
