CHAPTER 2: TECHNOLOGY: BOON OR BANE?

REFLECTION: 

There are many notions regarding our technology. some say it is a boon,  while others believe it is a bane. well, we cannot tell whether they are right or wrong. for me, technology is both a blessing and a curse. The evidence is very noticeable when you look around your surroundings, especially in our eeducational fields. we may have taken it lightly but technology has made a great impact in our lives. below are some of the reasons why technology is a blessing to man.

With cell phones, we can communicate to someone miles away from us

·        With TVs, we become updated to the latest happenings and issues around the globe

·        With computers, we can research projects easier and it has a wide range of information

·        With the use of multimedia, teaching and learning has become more interesting and exciting

However, if technology is not properly used, it becomes a detriment to learning and development.

Technology is a bane:

·        Technology can destroy relationships

·        Because of cell phones, we spend most of the time in the classroom texting, etc.

·        A person gets glued in the computer and other gadgets and eventually become antisocial

·        There are so many information in the internet that we drown on it that we fail to recognize which is true anymore

·        Internet can taint the morality and innocence of the children(surfing for pornography)

Technology is in our hands. We can use it to build or destroy. Technology depends on how we use it. Let us use technology to build a better individual on us. Let us not use it as a downfall of other persons that will eventually lead to the downfall of humanity.
